Travel Trailer Purchased At Last

Months & Months of Research Later…

We were headed down to a local RV show when we passed Dennis Dillon RV on the freeway. Dylan is my nephew’s name, so naturally, we were inclined to exit the freeway and stop by. I’ve lived in Orange County for 20+ years – only during the past few years did I move to the concrete jungle known as Los Angeles. It was a nice surprise to see that this new RV dealer had opened up.

Upon arrival at Dennis Dillon RV we started off by glancing at a few trailers on their lot. We were eventually greeted by Mike, their salesman. Mike pulled up a seat and really talked to us about our needs and what we were looking for.

We sat, talked, joked, and learned. Mike has an enormous amount of experience within the RV/trailer world and he helped us narrow down the make and model that was right for us. We had a good feeling about the size and floor plan we had in mind. I’d say we were a bit lost when it came to the manufacturer. I didn’t want to break the bank, and Mike’s insight was invaluable.

At last, we decided on a 25 foot Forest River Cruise-lite 25RLXL travel trailer. Light enough to tow without much concern, big enough to be in for long periods of time. It’s perfect for us, really. Forest River, “a brand owned by Warren Buffett.” I know it was every dealer’s pitch, but I like to know he has a small hand in the company.

A few hours later the paperwork was filled out and we on our way. The scheduled pickup is in a few weeks, as we have A LOT to get situated before we begin this adventure. It’s almost surreal at this point. At first, this was an idea, then a research project, now it’s actually happening…
